About This Settlement

Consumers alleged that Red Bull’s marketing falsely implied its drinks improved concentration and performance beyond ordinary caffeine. The lawsuit argued that slogans such as “Red Bull Gives You Wings” misled buyers into believing scientifically proven performance enhancements existed. Red Bull denied wrongdoing yet agreed to settle rather than continue litigation. Eligible consumers who purchased Red Bull products between 2002 and 2014 could submit claims for either a cash payment or free products. Claimants generally received about $10 due to extremely high participation rates.

Who's Eligible

Anyone in the United States who purchased a Red Bull beverage between January 1, 2002 and October 3, 2014 qualified for compensation. Consumers did not need proof of purchase for small claims. Claimants could request either a $10 cash payment or approximately $15 worth of Red Bull products. The settlement covered standard Red Bull energy drink varieties sold nationwide. Consumers alleged Red Bull’s advertising falsely suggested enhanced mental and physical performance benefits beyond ordinary caffeine. Plaintiffs argued slogans and marketing campaigns created misleading impressions regarding scientific support. Red Bull denied wrongdoing yet agreed to resolve claims through settlement. Due to large participation levels, most approved claimants received around $10.
